Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (DS) is looking for a Program Manager 3- Mission Engineering Lead to join Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Advanced Programs (AP). AP is on the cutting edge of the nuclear triad, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications and other strategic systems. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT and will support the Advanced Programs organization.
This position will be responsible for a small group of individuals in a rapid development environment providing weapon system level mission engineering support to all Advanced Programs capture activities. The position reports to the lead of Advanced Programs and interfaces with other Advanced Programs Leads.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $161,500.00 - $267,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

What You'll Get To Do:
- Conceptualize, mature, and capture new business in Mission Engineering to support growth of the Division and Business Unit
- Transition innovative solutions, technologies, and advanced concepts for US strategic deterrence interests to programs of record for product development and fielding.
- Manage Non-Contractual and Contractual projects/programs associated with the Mission Modeling Business
- Provide program management, pipeline inputs, and serve as the primary internal and external interface for a growing Advanced Programs team of analysts, and modelers focused on leading a mission engineering team that supports design and capture through system level mission modeling including threat and gap analysis and technology identification for capability upgrades to existing deterrent systems such as Minuteman III and Ground Based Strategic Deterrent as well as new advanced concepts for future deterrence needs in the areas of ballistic and cruise missiles, nuclear command, control, and communication, and support systems/subsystems such as cyberdefense, security, decision aides, etc.
- Lead and assign leads for various Advanced Programs projects to develop operational concepts and identify system level trade studies and concept architecture, that meet potential customers' performance, cost, schedule, and risk thresholds while informing them of the surrounding design space for capability considerations, especially capability versus life cycle cost versus technical availability date.
- Lead identification and tracking of threat/adversary capabilities roadmap and associated existing or developing warfighting capability gaps to feed Advanced Programs technology development and conceptual design process.
- Support future Advanced Programs and Division team engagement activities, technical staff performance and goal evaluation, and recruiting/hiring support
- Demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business
- Operate in an advanced design environment and collaborate across the Divisions and other Sectors as required to accomplish the team goals
- Work closely with the Advanced Programs leads in defining and growing the organization's people and business

You Will Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree inclusive of 8 years related experience with engineering, technical management, and/or program management
- Experience with DoD weapon systems conceptual and preliminary design, particularly related to design analysis cycles, system level cost versus capability trade studies, and multi-design discipline integration
- 3+ years providing leadership of an engineering team or teams
- U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance with a periodic reinvestigation closed within last five years
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
- MS Engineering or MBA
- Experience with related to ICBM, and other strategic systems technologies and products
- Leadership experience with new start activities and establishing effective change management processes
- IPT / PM experience across multiple phases of the program lifecycle
- Excellent conflict management and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to make tough decisions
- Active DoD Top Secret and SCI clearance and additional SAP accesses
- Experience with ballistic missile and/or weapon design to include vehicle, payload, command and control, ground systems, and support systems
- Experience with hypersonic weapon systems
- Experience with nuclear command and control and legacy platforms/weapon systems.
- Experience with nuclear hardened strategic systems
- Experience with detailed design and engineering and manufacturing development
- Experience with life cycle cost analysis, especially parametric based LCC estimation
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills required to work closely with both internal staff and external customers and partners.
