Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Digital Directorate (AFLCMC/HB) at Hanscom AFB. This position will support the Fixed Site Branch (HBUN) of the Force Protection Division, which oversees numerous active and emerging projects requiring cybersecurity expertise. The role includes direct RMF and eMASS support and involves travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution with 3 years of relevant experience, OR

Duties include, but not limited to:
- Assist in the development of System Security Management Plans, Program Protection Plans, OPSEC Plans, and other security documentation aligned with DoDI 5000.02, DoDI 8510.01, and MIL-STD 1785
- Support the Authorization & Accreditation (A&A) process using the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Utilize eMASS for tracking cybersecurity artifacts and statuses
- Manage user accounts, ports/protocols, PKI requirements, and security configurations
- Track and implement system security patches and updates per DoD directives
- Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments on information systems
- Support and lead systems security audits, inspections, and contingency planning
- Guide system design and implementation to comply with security policies
- Recommend new software/configurations or waivers when necessary
- Preserve and analyze evidence related to cybersecurity incidents
- Evaluate and assess cybersecurity requirements across systems and networks
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure RMF packages meet AO approval
- Maintain accountability databases for classified data and hardware
- Support compliance inspections, facility security assessments, and policy updates
- Oversee FMS case support, disclosure issues, and acquisition lifecycle security
Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Must have an active Secret Clearance
Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution with 3 years of relevant experience, OR
- 7 years of directly related experience with 5 years in DoD or other government agencies
Certifications:
- Security+ CE
- SSCP or CISM (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity infrastructure
- Familiarity with RMF, eMASS, and cloud security in the DoD
- Understanding of Agile methods (CI/CD, DevSecOps, DevOps)
- Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate security concepts clearly
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master's degree
Certifications: CISSP

- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Experience engaging stakeholders, vendors, and government customers
