Senior AIX Administrator

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a secret cleared Senior AIX Administrator to join a National Security Contract located in Annapolis Junction, MD through 100% full onsite presence . The Senior AIX Administrator will manage and maintain an AIX-based server environment, ensuring performance, security, and reliability. In this role, system administration, troubleshooting, optimization, and user access management are central.

Responsibilities of the Senior AIX Administrator include:

• Administer and maintain AIX-based server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
• Monitor and optimize system performance, identifying bottlenecks and ensuring reliability and efficiency
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Implement and maintain security measures, managing user access, permissions, and adherence to security policies
• Perform backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data protection and system availability
• Lead and support project teams working on IBM AIX environments

Qualifications of the Senior AIX Administrator include:

• 7+ years of experience with AIX systems and Unix/Linux environments
• IBM AIX Certification
• Expertise in installation, configuration, patch management, troubleshooting and performance tuning
• Strong understanding of user access controls, permissions, and security policies
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) experience
• Active secret clearance

Compensation for the Senior AIX Administrator includes:

• Salary Range: $80,000-120,000 **depending on experience**
