The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure to support and maintain the operational stability, scalability, and security of our Azure PaaS (Platform as a Service) environment. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement best practices, and troubleshoot issues in a dynamic cloud infrastructure. This position will work closely with the Operations Manager, Technical Architect, and the Customer to define and solution IT operations/engineering enhancements and facilitate enterprise IT strategy execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and Monitor cloud-based services and infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure PaaS, including App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and related services.
  • Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of applications and services in the Azure environment.
  • Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or ARM/Bicep templates.
  • Design and configure Azure components in accordance with DoD security requirements, including applicable STIGs, the DoD Cloud Computing SRG, and DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) functional requirements
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to deploy and support cloud-native applications.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of cloud solutions with a focus on reliability, cost-efficiency, and security.
  • Proactively identify system issues and respond to incidents and service requests.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Operate and maintain Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Azure Cloud Management Gateway (CMG)
  • Assist management of Azure Resource Groups, role-based access control (RBAC), policies, and tagging for cost control and governance.
  • Perform regular updates, backups, and patching of Azure-hosted services and applications.
  • Document system architecture and propose solutions and including cloud services to enhance system capabilities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise into development of technical documentation, such as the System Design Document (SDD), Configuration Management Plan, Contingency Plan, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and other ATO documentation (as needed)
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning for cloud resources.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum)
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in managing cloud environments, with at least 3+ years focused on Azure
  • 3+ years' experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Azure Cloud Management Gateway (CMG)
  • Proficiency with Azure services, especially Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Functions and Logic Apps, Azure Key Vault, and Azure DevOps (pipelines preferred)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform a plus).
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Azure CLI
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems
  • Knowledge of identity and access management, including Azure AD and RBAC
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Meet DoD 8140 Intermediate Requirements or ability to obtain necessary certification within six months of start date


Desired:

  • 5+ years' experience integrating, securing, and understanding the following Microsoft platform services (both Windows OS and in Azure Cloud)
  • Familiarity working with Agile Teams and Methodologies
  • 3+ years' experience supporting the SELC process
  • Experience with software/tools (e.g. Ansible, SCOM, Splunk, Docker/Kubernetes, PKI, STIGs)

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$86,600 - $181,800
