TITLE: Electronic Security Systems Technician/Administrator
DUTIES:
* Install, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot issues with the USSOCOM Security Management System (SMS). This system includes:
o Cisco and Dell networking devices
o Windows and Linux based servers providing Directory Services such as ADUC, DNS, and Group Policy, Video Surveillance and Analytic servers, Horizon virtual client infrastructure, security management servers for Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Access Control Systems (ACS), file storage, and video archiving all in a VMWare virtual environment.
* Install, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot issues with the IDS and ACS devices in the USSOCOM SMS. These devices include:
o Balanced Magnetic Switches (BMS)
o Maglocks
o Card readers
o Analog and Network Cameras, Motion Sensors, Barricades, and Turnstiles.
* This includes programming and monitoring the central and remote nodes to ensure proper functionality, compliance with USSOCOM and DOD security policy, and annual testing of all components.
* The technician will assist the Security Management Office (SMO) Physical Security (PHYSEC) branch to ensure all systems (servers and desktops) are protected and maintained in accordance with DoD Cybersecurity instructions and policies that apply to the SMS and all system components.
o This includes providing support such as deploying software updates, firmware upgrades, patches, etc.
* The technician will provide help desk support to the end users and client devices to include desktops, thin clients, virtual desktops, printers, install and clean ID badge printers, all user software and peripherals and monitoring all systems for the overall health of the systems.
o Technician will also provide basic computer and IT operation technical content review with regards to operating the various SMS components, including electronic security systems and video platforms deployed.
* For all systems, this includes analyzing operational trends, recommending improvements, providing cost analysis for all recommendations, and staying in tune with industry advances to ensure the latest approved devices and systems are incorporated into the SMS as applicable.
* Assist the PHYSEC branch in educating end users and Security Managers on the necessary basic operational procedures for the SMS and its components.
* All USSOCOM Security policies and operator level technical handouts will be provided by the PHYSEC branch and will be promoted by the technician.
* The technician will coordinate all work with the PHYSEC branch and its support resources such as:
o Scheduling other contractors
o Professional support services
o Technical support teams, if outside assistance is required for maintaining any components of the SMS to include new installations and projects.
* The technician will provide monthly status reports including, but not limited to, the identification of issues worked/fixed, responses to emergency calls, and upgrades completed.
* Hours of Operation. The on-site technician shall be available to support 24hrs operations; however, normal work hours are from 0700-1600 with an hour for lunch Monday through Friday except Federal holidays, leave or as approved by the PHYSEC Branch Chief.
Requirements/Qualifications:
* Active TS/SCI
* Physically capable of installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer systems and electronic security system components including but not limited to video surveillance systems, access control devices, intrusion detection systems and barricades and programing control panels.
* Electronic security systems experience
* Experience with low-voltage wiring, DC circuits, and PLCs
* Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and identifying and resolving false alarm conditions for electronic security systems including but not limited to motion detectors, access card readers, computer hardware and software, and other components.
* Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms and/or lifts to access equipment.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Basic to proficient computer knowledge with willingness and aptitude to learn
