Position Overview
We are seeking a Configuration Manager with strong experience managing complex software and firmware environments. This role is essential to implementing and maintaining effective software configuration management (SCM) practices across diverse systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with version control tools such as GitLab, experience overseeing change and defect tracking processes, and a solid understanding of CI/CD workflows in collaborative development environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage software and firmware configurations across diverse environments, ensuring effective version control and configuration integrity.
* Lead change and defect management processes, including facilitating review forums, tracking requests, and communicating resolutions with stakeholders.
* Establish and maintain configuration baselines across multiple systems, supporting the full development and deployment lifecycle.
* Develop and implement configuration management plans, policies, and procedures tailored to project needs and aligned with software lifecycle practices.
* Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to audit configuration processes and ensure consistent compliance and traceability.
* Support secure operations and data handling procedures; may be required to obtain certification to participate in controlled data transfer processes.
Requirements
* Proven experience managing software configuration for complex, multi-component software systems.
* Proficient in using modern version control platforms such as GitLab to support CI/CD pipelines and issue tracking workflows.
* Experienced in leading technical review processes and managing change control activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
* Skilled in defining, maintaining, and auditing configuration baselines across multiple environments and locations.
* Deep understanding of configuration management planning, implementation, and best practices for governance.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures.
* Familiar with integrating configuration management practices within DevOps and Agile software development environments.
* Capable of supporting secure data transfer processes and willing to obtain relevant certifications if required.

* Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline and 8 years of experience as a CM
* Master's degree in a technical or business discipline and 6 years of experience as a CM
* High School G.E.D and 12 years of experience as a CM
