Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)

FTS has as opportunity for a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) in Chantilly, VA.

The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) will work in a collaborative teaming environment while developing MBSE models for space and space-related systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of MBSE models in the satellite and ground system domains - including definition of architectures, interfaces, data flows, verification methods, and requirements
• Integrate MBSE models with other SE lifecycle tools and data sets to implement digital thread capabilities
• Run validation suites, verify compliance with style guides, and configuration manage models within a federated framework
• Lead collaborative model working groups with teams of engineers
• Train new MBSE practitioners on MBSE tools, processes, and methods
• Present familiarization demonstrations, including "live demos", for senior stakeholders and customers

Required Skills/Qualifications

• TS/SCI with polygraph
• BS/BA degree in a relevant field
• 3+ years of relevant experience developing and maintaining MBSE models
• Excellent communication skills that will allow the presentation of findings to internal and external customers

Desired Skills/Qualifications

• B.S. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) in engineering discipline
• Experience in multiple aspects of SE (Architecting, Requirements, Integration, Testing, Risk Management, Project Management)
• Experience implementing all Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) domains and the UAF modeling language
• Experience in modeling cybersecurity requirements, controls, and architecture
• Experience integrating MS&A and MBSE data sets to support analysis
