KBR is seeking a motivated Junior Astrodynamicist to join our team at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. The ability to obtain a U.S. government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

As a Junior Astrodynamicist, you will work alongside leading SDA experts to conduct critical sensor validation/verification and algorithm development to support the Offensive/Defensive Space Control and Sensor & C2 mission areas. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, has a passion for learning, and excels at technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct numerical analysis using Python or MATLAB
  • Research and develop algorithms to support Validation and Verification (V&V) of critical space systems
  • Generate reports and visualizations to support a wide array of mission-critical efforts
  • Contribute to the development of tools and methodologies that enhance space situational awareness and satellite operations
  • Understand and apply the fundamentals of Space Domain Awareness to complex problem sets
  • Support both offensive and defensive space control operations through data analytics, astrodynamics, and modeling


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, or another technical field
  • 1+ years of experience in a technical environment
  • 1+ years of software development experience (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Desire and ability to learn new and challenging technical concepts
  • High motivation, creativity, and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong preference for candidates with active security clearances at the SECRET level or higher
  • Experience with space surveillance systems or satellite operations
  • Big data analytics
  • B.S. in astrodynamics or aerospace
  • 1+ years of experience as an orbital analyst or SDA related
  • 1+ years of experience programming in Python


Compensation:

For Colorado only - the salary range for this position is approximately $100,000 - $110,000.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Other Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
