We are seeking a highly skilled Security Architect to design, build, and maintain a robust security infrastructure across our organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, architecture frameworks, and security technologies to protect systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access and threats.

Job Summary:
B&A is looking for a Security Architect to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a highly skilled Security Architect to design, build, and maintain a robust security infrastructure across our organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, architecture frameworks, and security technologies to protect systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access and threats.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enterprise-wide security architecture and strategy based on industry best practices and business requirements.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and identity and access management solutions.
- Conduct security assessments and threat modeling to identify and mitigate risks to IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and application development teams to embed security into system designs and development processes (DevSecOps).
- Serve as a subject matter expert during audits, incident investigations, and security architecture reviews.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging threats to proactively enhance our security posture.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior security team members and cross-functional partners.
- Participate in incident response planning and testing activities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5-10+ years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a security architecture or engineering role.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, SABSA, TOGAF, Zero Trust).
- Hands-on experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern architectures (containers, microservices, APIs).
- Proficient in network security, encryption technologies, IAM, and secure SDLC practices.
- Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Palo Alto, Okta, Tenable, and Fortinet.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desired Skills:
- Masters is preferred.
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Information Security or a related technical field.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or government.
- Background in enterprise risk management, data privacy, or compliance auditing.
- Experience leading cross-functional security projects or initiatives.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and securing development workflows.
Security Clearance
- Active Top Secret / SCI clearance required.
