Mantech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Engineer to join our team at JBSA San Antonio, TX. This position is a hybrid role with 3 days a week on site.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java applications and services within the HRSTS ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and other developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.
  • Work effectively in an Agile/Scrum development environment.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Java development
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with RESTful web services and API development
  • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate, JPA)
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Experience with HR systems or enterprise software development
  • Experience with software development planning tools, such as Jira
  • AWS certification
  • Experience working with the Air Force or Space Force


Clearance Requirements:
  • US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance suitability


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
