Help Desk Technician

This position requires an active Secret clearance.

Cherokee Nation System Solutions is seeking an experienced IT Help Desk Specialist to provide technical support and administrative assistance. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience supporting Microsoft systems, troubleshooting user issues, and training personnel on internal systems. This role includes managing help desk operations, responding to technical issues, and ensuring smooth IT operations for 75-80 personnel. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are essential.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Help Desk Technician: $109,011.77

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Help Desk Technician Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide IT administration and help desk support for the Office of the Chief of Protocol.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot technical issues for end users via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Manage help desk operations and serve as the main contact for customer concerns.
  • Provide second-tier support for PC, server, and mainframe applications.
  • Coordinate with network services and development teams to resolve issues.
  • Set up and maintain systems for 75-80 personnel, including travel-related tools.
  • Track and report monthly travel costs, assisting with budget planning.
  • Train personnel on internal systems and provide ongoing technical assistance.
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical problems through proper tracking and documentation.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Help Desk Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • College degree in Information Technology (IT) or related field, or 10+ years of experience in help desk support on Microsoft systems.
  • 10+ years of experience in Microsoft help desk support.
  • Experience teaching, coaching, and mentoring professionals on State Department systems and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to promote consistent performance.
  • Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate activities across locations, and work effectively in a multi-cultural team environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage daily coordination with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of creating tools to assist personnel with State Department systems.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
