ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking an entry-level Software Developer to join our Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This is a 100% on-site position.
STARS is a digital automation system capable of tracking all aircraft within the defined airspace using information available from the FAA and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) surveillance systems.
We are looking for a Software Developer to:
Citizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement
All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.
Relocation Requirement
Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
Education Requirement
All Non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science .

We are looking for a Software Developer to:
- Provide experience in/with:
- Software requirements analysis, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems.
- Programming languages commonly used within the National Airspace System (NAS), such as C/C++, Java, SQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Python, and JSON.
- Development and improvement of software development processes.
- Test and evaluation policies and methods, including test plans, procedures, execution, and reporting.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming techniques, client/server development, cross-browser development, and Unix/Linux skills.
Citizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement
All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.
- Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA).
- Has resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.

- Software development with the following languages: C/C++, Java, SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python, and/or JSON.
- UNIX/Linux Command Line environments (RHEL preferred).
- Shell Scripting (Bash, Perl, etc.)
- Virtual Machine Environments (Oracle VirtualBox preferred).
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Ability to:
- Work independently, as well as on a team.
- Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.
- Research and problem solve.
- Customer service skills.
Preferred Skills
- Familiar with:
- Git
- NetSarang XShell
- Project Management Tools (Redmine, JIRA, etc.)
- Languages: Ruby/Rails
Essential Daily Job Duties
- Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for STARS.
- Develop and test software changes targeting assigned PTRs using commonly used programming languages such as C/C++, Java, SQL, etc.
- Execute tests of implemented software changes for assigned PTRs using test and evaluation policies and methods, authored test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Attend all required meetings, reviews, working groups and briefings to provide status and obtain information.
Work Environment
- Full-time position with a standard flexible work schedule and occasional non-standard work hours.
- Occasional travel (less than 5%).
- Cubicle environment.
