Mayvin is currently seeking a Child Reunification Specialist to provide administrative support to the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Victim-Witness Program Management (VWPM) by conducting research and liaising with other agencies throughout the United States.

Responsibilities :
- Provide pre- and post-recovery and reunification coordination and liaison functions for USMS personnel for missing child investigations and operations.
- Assist USMS personnel with developing comprehensive, pre-operational, multi-agency recovery planning for local, state, regional, and national missing child operations.
- Assist USMS personnel with communicating child reunification activity on missing child investigations and operations with the SOIB VWS and respective district V.W.C.s.
- Provide research and liaison function for sourcing federal, state, tribal, local, and social service authorities and/or community-based entities regarding child recovery and reunification activity.
- Establish and maintain relationships with USMS VWPM, district collateral duty V.W.C.s, district management, Department of Justice components, and other federal, state, local, and tribal officials, as well as non-governmental entities regarding child recovery, reunification, and related services.
- Continuously conduct agency needs assessments and analyze results to create and implement effective outreach strategies with various components of the social service system in support of USMS child recovery and reunification activity.
- Compile information resources for USMS personnel, including social service and community points of contact.
- Work with USMS VWPM to develop appropriate training material for agency personnel conducting missing child investigations. Periodically assesses the effectiveness of such recovery and reunification training to ensure that training requirements are met and that the training is effective.
- Analyze victim-oriented activities for common problems. Develops methodologies for addressing issues and provides technical assistance and training to SOIB management.
- Assist USMS personnel in developing communication methods to ensure that the statutory and regulatory provisions of the V.W.P. are promulgated in a timely, effective manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that USMS staff are provided with the necessary information to maintain compliance with federal victims' legislation applicable to recovery and reunification efforts.
- Assist USMS personnel with reviewing proposed or pending legislation and executive branch policies regarding recovering missing children.
- Assist USMS personnel with preparing written responses to congressional inquiries, Executive branch agencies, and the public regarding recovery and reunification activity in missing child investigations or operations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or Psychology
- Knowledge of the state juvenile criminal justice system, the applicable procedure relating to law enforcement agencies and activity, the handling of victims of crime, and the interface of public and private agencies.
- Knowledge of the procedures of law-enforcement agencies as they relate to the treatment and handling of child victims and the required interface with protection agencies.
- Knowledge of applicable statutes, policies, and procedures for federal victim assistance and the Attorney General's Guidelines on Victim and Witness Assistance relating to child victims. Ability to assess compliance with statutes, guidelines, or programs.
- Knowledge of community resources and agencies that serve victims of various types of crime, including child and sex offense victims.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, direct victim services, state compensation laws, and state and federal victim notification programs.
- Knowledge of international laws as they relate to child recovery services.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other professional federal, state, and local agencies, victims, attorneys, law enforcement personnel, and representatives from non-governmental agencies.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, with rigid deadlines, and under stressful conditions.
- Ability to travel frequently with minimum notification.
- Ability to work after regular business hours and provide as-needed guidance for child recovery situations.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Prior federal-level Child Reunification experience
