Description:Join Our Team as an Electronics Engineer where you will work on the development of a sophisticated state-of-the-art avionics product in a world class Integrated Product Development environment.
Location: Although this position does support some teleworking; the selected candidate will need to be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Sunnyvale CA , and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.

What does this role look like?
• The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program is looking for its next enthusiastic and motivated Electronics Engineer. This individual will work in a dynamic team environment overseeing the development of THAAD Optical Seeker hardware. THAAD is a cutting-edge missile defense system that protects our nation and its allies from ballistic missile threats.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
• Support all technical aspects of avionics design, development, integration, test, and verification activities as the Certified Principal Engineer for a redesign effort.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design, manufacturing, qualification, and acceptance for a complex electro-optical system.
• Apply circuit design and troubleshooting principles to the development of new electronics hardware.
• Perform investigation of hardware failures during engineering development, qualification, and acceptance testing at the part, CCA, and package levels.
• Critically review technical documentation, test plans, analyses, and reports.
• Apply circuit design best practices to the development of new electronics hardware.
• Mentor junior engineers and interface extensively with our customers, subcontractors, and leadership.

• Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware
• 14+ years professional experience; 12+ years with Masters degree.
• While no clearance is needed to start this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience in design and test of complex electrical hardware.
• Experience working on project teams and development efforts.
• Experience with design of digital and analog circuits.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware using schematics, drawings, and simulation tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; US Citizenship is required.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment and build effective relationships.
• Demonstrated communication skills to articulate complex issues at appropriate levels of detail for both highly technical and non-technical peers, management, subcontractors, and customers.
• Capability to lead a team responsible for development of avionics, and experience as Certified Principal Engineer (CPE), Subject Matter Engineer, or equivalent.
• Experience leading/coordinating small diverse teams in development of technical products.
• Experience leading Failure Review Board (FRB) investigations to isolate and address Root Causes with Corrective Actions (RCCA).
• Demonstrated experience with design and/or analysis of PCB/PWB, Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA), and/or electronic packages.
• Must be able to work autonomously and drive items to closure.
• Experience performing electronics analysis (Worst Case Analysis, Electrical Parts Stress Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Critical Analysis).
• Experience with design and test of electro-optical devices.
• Experience on Space and/or Missile Defense Missions

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
