Intel Exercise and Engagement Planner

The position will support intel exercise and engagement planning to include intel training objective and scenario development. The position will provide intel support to exercise planning conferences. The intel exercise and engagement planner will be fully integrated in the command and provide exercise intel expertise to the command. The intel exercise and engagement planner will synchronize and coordinate with SOJ3, SOJ7, subordinate units, and external manning requirements for exercise support.

This position requires a DoD Top Secret with SCI eligibility which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Intel exercise planner tasks:
  • Plan, coordinate and execute SOCPAC and component intelligence participation in assigned USINDOPACOM, JCS, and Service exercises.
  • Coordinate and manage exercise development in conjunction with USINDOPACOM and component planner and participants. Develop training objectives that meet SOCPAC SOJ2 JMETL requirements.
  • Ensure SOCPAC and component exercises inform the Defense Readiness Reporting System and fully incorporate the Joint Lessons Learned system.
  • Develop training objectives in conjunction with exercise participants and SOCPAC SOJ2 stakeholders.
  • Assist in the coordination with exercise participants and supporters from other DoD and non-DoD organizations.
  • Draft and develop realistic threat scenarios, incorporate best-practice inputs from DoD and other agencies.
  • Coordinate exercise criteria to test and stress the command's intelligence and training objectives.
  • Consolidate and draft AAR related to training objectives, corrections, and COA development.

Engagement planner tasks:
    • Develop, synchronize, execute, and track SOCPAC's capacity building, multinational engagements, including but not limited to subject matter expert exchanges (SMEE) and key leader engagements (KLE).
    • Conduct all-source research and assessments on countries in the Indo-Pacific to identify challenges in achieving objectives and develop recommendations in conjunction with SOCPAC Intelligence SMEEs to overcome identified challenges.
    • Develop talking points and information papers to support COMSOCPAC and SOCPAC SOJ2 KLEs with senior U.S. / foreign military / civilian leaders.
    • CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Current DoD Top Secret clearance and eligible for SCI access.
  • Familiarity with civil-military operations, humanitarian assistance / disaster response, and peacekeeping operations
  • Experience planning, coordinating and executing SOCPAC and component intelligence participation in assigned USINDOPACOM, JCS, and Service exercises.
  • Experience coordinating and managing exercise development in conjunction with USINDOPACOM and component planner and participants. Develop training objectives that meet SOCPAC SOJ2 JMETL requirements.
  • Ability to ensure SOCPAC and component exercises inform the Defense Readiness Reporting System and fully incorporate the Joint Lessons Learned system.
  • Experience developing training objectives in conjunction with exercise participants and SOCPAC SOJ2 stakeholders.
  • Ability to assist in the coordination with exercise participants and supporters from other DoD and non-DoD organizations.
  • Experience drafting and developing realistic threat scenarios, incorporate best-practice inputs from DoD and other agencies.
  • Experience coordinating exercise criteria to test and stress the command's intelligence and training objectives.
  • Experience consolidating and draft AAR related to training objectives, corrections, and COA development.

Preferred and Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience providing intel support to SOF units/commands.
  • Prior experience as an exercise planner with the Department of Defense

The proposed salary for this position is:

$133,100 - $221,800 USD
