Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector and the AMS Division is looking for a Senior Programs Director to lead the Advanced Tactical Programs Operating Unit within the Tactical Fighters Business Unit.
The Advanced Tactical Programs (ATP) Operating Unit has a unique range of next generation technology programs spanning development to production, while operating in a concurrent, challenging and fast-paced environment to bring needed capability to the War Fighter.
The Operating Unit Director has P&L responsibilities for the management, strategy and execution of the ATP OU. This position reports to the VP, Tactical Fighters Business Unit and will be located in onsite Baltimore, MD.

Salary Range: $246,800.00 - $370,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Responsibilities include:
- Builds and leverages a strong partnership with cross-functional teams to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives in a matrix organizational environment
- Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, risk/opportunity management, identifies and resolves complex program problems
- Identifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce planning
- Cultivates a positive employee experience in a high-pressure environment by focusing on engagement, recognition, retention initiatives and professional development
- Demonstrates strong communication skills to deliver executive briefings internally and externally to customers, leaders and other program stakeholders
- Cultivates customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer community
- Develops business area strategies and new business opportunities that are consistent with Division/ Sector priorities to drive consistent growth for the operating area
- Participates in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of program management or related experience
- Expertise in development program execution to lead the performance of tasks on schedule and at cost
- Demonstrated success leading teams and/or organizations to achieve a common goal
- Developed a high performing and engaged team culture in a high-pressure environment
- Demonstrated ability to foster existing customer relationships and develop new customer relationships
- Strategic business storytelling skills - briefing succinctly, communication and executive presence skills to effectively interact at all levels internally and externally (program team, customer and senior leadership), and ability to generate executive level presentation materials
- Demonstrated ability to develop and drive strategy, and critical thinking to resolve complex problems
- A strong sense of urgency
- Must be a US citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance and ability to obtain special access clearances; Or DoE equivalent and ability to obtain special access clearances
- Exceptional communication, collaboration and executive presence skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering and/or business administration
- Experience leading concurrent development & production programs and/or transition to production programs
- Understanding of manufacturing and process
- Knowledge of radar systems
