Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced and motivated professional for the role of Sr Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist with experiences in supply chain management, or related fields, to include business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, or manufacturing.

The successful applicant will join Northrop Grumman's Land Maritime and Sensor (LMS) Business Unit within the Mission Systems Sector, which is engaged throughout all aspects of the core technologies used within our major systems. This position is onsite in Linthicum and Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities:
  • Sources and procures specialized goods and services
  • Owns contractual management for the supplier
  • Responsible for source selection from contract proposal to execution phases
  • Issues purchase orders
  • Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program and end-users
  • Develops subcontract specifications, terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services
  • Prepares bid packages, conducts bidders conferences, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes awards, and administers resulting subcontracts
  • In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules
  • Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations
  • Manages performance of subcontracts, ensures compliance with International as well as FAR and DFARS, and all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations
  • Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities
  • Manages and develops strategic/key suppliers by having strong communication and writing skills
  • Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed
  • Manages Subcontracts that require Certified Cost or Pricing Data
  • Conducts Sr. co-worker reviews for team member purchase orders to ensure compliance
  • Assists with onboarding and training of new hires


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 8 years of Supply Chain/Business experience OR a master's degree with at least 6 year of Supply Chain/Business experience OR 12+years of Supply Chain/Business experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience with multiple contracting formats, including Firm Fixed Price, Milestone, Material-to-Vendor, and Service
  • Experience in administering Purchase Orders and Subcontracts with values in excess of $750K
  • Experience with FAR and DFARS regulations
  • Experience with SAP or S4
  • US Citizenship
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with negotiating terms and conditions in a corporate setting
  • Experience analyzing data to formulate and execute effective negotiation strategies
  • Experience in administering Purchase Orders and Subcontracts with values in excess of $2M


Salary Range: $108,400.00 - $162,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
