Cloud Functional Specialist / Functional Expert

This position requires an Active Secret Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.. This is a remote position, however candidates must live within a reasonable driving distance of Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA. This position is contingent on award.

Day in the life:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, challenges, and processes. Translate these into detailed functional requirements for cloud-based solutions
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend specific cloud services (e.g., AWS S3 for storage, Azure Functions for serverless compute, GCP BigQuery for data warehousing) that best meet defined business requirements
• Work closely with technical architects and development teams to ensure functional requirements are correctly interpreted and incorporated into the cloud solution's design. This includes advising on optimal configurations and service integrations
• Where applicable, configure and customize cloud services and applications to align with business processes without requiring deep coding. This might involve setting up workflows, rules, dashboards, or security policies
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for optimization and automation leveraging cloud capabilities. Document proposed changes and their impact
• Develop UAT plans and lead testing efforts to ensure the implemented cloud solutions meet functional requirements and user expectations. Gather feedback and facilitate defect resolution
• Create clear and comprehensive functional documentation, user manuals, and training materials. Conduct training sessions for end-users and other stakeholders on new cloud functionalities and processes
• Act as a key liaison between business users, technical teams, and cloud vendors, ensuring effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay current with new features, updates, and best practices within the chosen cloud platform(s) and specific cloud services relevant to the organization's needs. Advise on their potential application
• Provide functional support and troubleshoot issues related to cloud applications and services, guiding users through solutions and escalating technical issues as needed

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience, Associate degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of relevant experience with no degree
• Active Secret clearance
• US Citizenship
• 4 years of dedicated experience in a functional role related to cloud technologies, cloud applications, or enterprise software configuration/implementation with a strong cloud component
• Solid understanding of core services and concepts within at least one major public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). This includes compute, storage, networking, databases, and security fundamentals
• Experience working with and configuring specific cloud services relevant to business domains such as CRM (e.g., Salesforce on cloud), ERP (e.g., SAP on cloud), data analytics platforms, marketing automation, or specific industry solutions
• Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document complex business and functional requirements from various stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills to analyze business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose cloud-enabled improvements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms and vice-versa for diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a logical and analytical approach to identifying root causes and proposing effective solutions
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and manage expectations effectively
• Meticulous attention to detail in documenting requirements, configurations, and test plans

Preferred Skills:

• Relevant Certifications (Preferred): Foundational or Associate-level cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Digital Leader)

Benefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.
Full benefits: $146,000 to $184,000 annually
Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision): Up to $198,000 annually
