ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Phone Technician to join our team in McLean, VA. In this role, you will provide frontline IT support and handle phone system installation and troubleshooting while collaborating closely with a dynamic, team oriented environment. This role offers hands-on work with diverse technologies supporting critical operations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Install, configure, and maintain VoIP and traditional phone systems, including handsets, headsets, peripherals, user extensions, voicemail, and call routing.
  • Perform physical installation and setup of phone hardware, cabling, patch panels, and related telecommunications equipment, including work in network and telecom closets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve phone system hardware, software, and connectivity issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Coordinate with IT/network teams to integrate phone systems with data networks and support system upgrades.
  • Document installations, configurations, and maintenance procedures, and provide user training on phone system features.
  • Local travel may be required between customer buildings or temporary assignment to an alternate location in support of special projects.


The required work shift is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, within a coverage team operating from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Flexibility is required to support 24/7 operations, including occasional extended hours during critical periods and availability for short-notice requests.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • HS diploma and 6+ years of technician experience OR Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of technician experience OR Master's degree and 0 years of experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with phone hardware installation, cabling, patch panels, and work in network/telecom closets.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve phone system hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs) and integration between phone systems and data networks.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Related work experience in IT hardware and cabling installation.
  • Experience with implementation on the Sponsor's network LAN infrastructure.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to quickly learn new skills while on the job
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a customer service-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple installation or service tasks simultaneously.


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 25% of the time. Constantly operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices majority of the time, position self to maintain equipment and cabling, including under the desks, while moving floor tiles, and in server closets, some of which may be confined spaces.
  • Must be able to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing 50+ pounds, some equipment may require team-lift or the use of carts. Ascends/descends a ladder, 10+ feet high while pulling cables and adjusting equipment.
