ARServices is seeking Software/Systems Architect to work in the Edgewood, MD area.

The Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) manages our Nation's investments in chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) defense equipment and medical countermeasures. Within JPEO-CBRND, the Joint Project Lead Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (JPL CBRN) Integration (INT) manages the total lifecycle of enterprise information technology systems and provides enterprise-wide CBRN threat warning and reporting, hazard prediction, and decision support capabilities for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of CBRN defense information. The Software/Systems Architect will support JPL CBRN INT with expert architecture and enterprise support, to include analyzing, developing, and maintaining solutions for systems, tools, and infrastructure within JPEO-CBRND.

A qualified candidate's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Acting as the point of contact and workflow organizer for the team.
  • Working with stakeholders, leadership, and subject matter experts to build a holistic view of the organization's strategy, processes, information, and assets.
  • Working with JPEO-CBRND program-level architects to provide a consensus-based enterprise solution that is scalable, adaptable, and in synchronization with operational requirements.
  • Supporting the analysis of JPEO-CBRND capability gaps and overlaps in the course of achieving the enterprise mission.
  • Developing, maintaining, and validating Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF) architectures for JPEO-CBRND initiatives, programs, and the Enterprise.
  • Utilizing architecture products to identify system dependencies and potential capability gaps.
  • Developing DODAF architecture models in coordination with the program office and user sponsors such as Joint Requirements Office (JRO) and individual service and non-DOD sponsors.
  • Working with JPEO-CBRND program engineers in order to develop system-level architectures.
  • Ensuring the DODAF architecture/data models are consistent with other JPEO-CBRND architecture models as well as Joint Staff Command and Control (J6) Warfighter Mission Area (WMA) architecture development guidance.
  • Developing architecture products to support acquisition documents (i.e., Capability Development Documents [CDD], Capability Production Documents [CPD], and Information Support Plans [ISP]).
  • Providing comments and input to support program and contract documentation (i.e., Systems Engineering Plans [SEP], Test and Evaluation Master Plans [TEMP], Requests for Information [RFI], Task Order Requests [TOR], and Requests for Proposals [RFP]).
  • Participating in JPEO-CBRND Integrated Product Teams (IPT) at the program and enterprise level.
  • Performing the following standard reporting requirements: in-person architecture reviews, weekly touch point calls, updating status tracking systems, and submitted monthly reports in writing to discuss the status of deliverables, work plans, and issues

Security Clearance Requirement:

Active/current Secret clearance is required.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of software development/information technology experience.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of software architecture experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience developing and maintaining one or more DODAF v2.0 data architecture products and/or Data Models within standard data modeling tools (ERStudio, Erwin, etc.).
  • A minimum of one (1) year of working experience with the UNICOM Systems Architect tool or No Magic Inc. MagicDraw Architect tool.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of working experience with either the DODAF or The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
  • A minimum of two (2) years experiences with Joint Common System Function List (JCSFL), Joint Common Architecture (JCA), Net-Ready Key Performance Parameter (NR KPP), Universal Joint Task List (UJTL), and National Information Exchange Model (NIEM).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to assess and clearly communicate technical and project risk.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% Continental United States (CONUS).
