Position Summary:
Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking a qualified Safety Officer to oversee and promote health and safety practices during emergency operations and training events. This position ensures compliance with applicable safety regulations, monitors field conditions, and advises command staff on risk mitigation strategies to protect personnel and support operational continuity. Advise Command Staff on all matters relating to operational safety, including the health and safety of personnel; responsible for developing the Incident Safety Plan.

Working Environment:
The usual work environment is an office or field setting at a location determined by assignment. The role may involve outdoor/austere conditions, prolonged periods of walking or standing, and occasional lifting (generally not exceeding 50 lbs.). Travel regularly includes locations throughout the continental United States and its territories. Duties may involve extended work periods beyond 12 hours per day and prolonged driving to work sites.

Position Summary:
Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking a qualified Safety Officer to oversee and promote health and safety practices during emergency operations and training events. This position ensures compliance with applicable safety regulations, monitors field conditions, and advises command staff on risk mitigation strategies to protect personnel and support operational continuity. Advise Command Staff on all matters relating to operational safety, including the health and safety of personnel; responsible for developing the Incident Safety Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess working conditions during incident operations or exercises
- Identify existing or potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with section chiefs and supervisors to ensure the implementation of safety protocols
- Enforce compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
- Conduct safety briefings and ensure dissemination of safety messages
- Investigate and document any accidents, injuries, or safety incidents
- Maintain records of safety inspections and incident reports
- Provide real-time input to incident action planning regarding safety considerations
- Participate in planning meetings to integrate safety into operational procedures
- Coordinate with medical personnel to support worker health and safety
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety, occupational health, or emergency management role
- Knowledge of OSHA, HAZMAT, and other applicable safety standards
- Ability to assess and mitigate risks in dynamic, high-tempo environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as a Safety Officer in an ICS or EOC structure
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry or Construction certification
- Experience supporting federally declared disasters or exercises
- Familiarity with FEMA doctrine, ICS Forms, and emergency response procedures
