Systems Engineer Expert
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
The System Engineer - Expert provides critical support in designing, documenting, and managing secure IT systems and infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring systems comply with security requirements, coordinating accreditation efforts, and facilitating communication between technical and security teams.

The System Engineer - Expert provides critical support in designing, documenting, and managing secure IT systems and infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring systems comply with security requirements, coordinating accreditation efforts, and facilitating communication between technical and security teams.

Systems Engineer Expert Responsibilities Include:
- Work onsite to support security engineering and accreditation tasks.
- Bridge complex technical implementation concepts into clear, security-compliant language for documentation and briefings.
- Understand and document system architecture for the creation of Systems Security Plans (SSP), CONOPS, and other A&A artifacts using the Xacta application.
- Develop and maintain RMF and ICD 503 documentation, including Contingency Plans, User Guides, SOPs, and more.
- Support and coordinate A&A reviews with ISSOs, ISSMs, and SCAs.
- Track project progress across the customer's A&A lifecycle, ensuring timely submission for ATD, IATT, and ATO.
- Collect, organize, and submit required security artifacts and evidence for audits, reviews, and POA&M closure.
- Facilitate collaboration between development teams, security personnel, and customer stakeholders.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Systems Engineer Expert Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 11 years of experience in system engineering or related IT security roles.
- Strong understanding of RMF, ICD 503, and secure system design.
- Experience supporting complex network environments with multiple security enclaves.
- Proven ability to translate technical information into accessible security documentation.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and facilitation skills.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
