Duties

As a FABRICATION SUPERVISOR, WS-3401-10 (TITLE 32), you will plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Assign tasks to be performed. Recommend and participate in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Schedules and approves leave of subordinates. Perform the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed. Implement safety regulatory requirements. subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow safety precautions. Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position within one year of appointment.
  • Position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

  • Preplacement Medical Requirements: Selectee will be required to undergo medical testing, at the expense of the government, prior to beginning employment. Medical tests are used to determine fitness and eligibility for employment.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-7 through E-8

Compatible Military Assignments: 2AXXX

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Must have experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs. Able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, you must have 36 months of experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
