Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to support Air Force acquisition programs at Lackland AFB, TX. This role involves conducting systems engineering analyses, managing technical baselines, and applying Agile frameworks and digital engineering techniques throughout the system lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring experience in DevSecOps, RMF/ATO processes, and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Responsibilities
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Top Secret
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
Years of Experience: 15 years of directly related experience, including 5 years supporting DoD programs
Preferred Qualifications
Clearance: Top Secret / SCI
Education: Master's degree in Systems Engineering or relevant discipline
Years of Experience: 8-12 years supporting DoD acquisition programs

Duties include, but not limited to:
- Support government systems engineering activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle-from concept development to deployment and sustainment
- Conduct requirements analysis, functional decomposition, and interface definition
- Assist with architecture development using MBSE tools and techniques
- Perform system trade studies, risk assessments, and analyses of alternatives (AoAs)
- Develop, review, and update technical specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and test/evaluation plans
- Participate in systems engineering reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and technical interchange meetings (TIMs)
- Analyze system performance metrics and ensure alignment with cost, schedule, and performance objectives
- Lead or contribute to DevSecOps pipeline planning and implementation in coordination with cybersecurity and software teams
- Support development and maintenance of RMF documentation and ATO packages
- Utilize Jira and Confluence to track engineering tasks, manage requirements, and facilitate collaboration
- Develop and maintain Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), acquisition milestone documentation, and technical reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including program managers, cybersecurity personnel, and external contractors to ensure system integration and compliance
