General Function:
  • Perform Engineering Management tasks and coordinate with AFLCMC organizations and external agencies to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Support acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment.
  • Provide OSS&E-related technical assistance and maintain configuration baselines.
  • Review ECPs, RFVs, and support Technology Insertion and CCBs.
  • Conduct Failure Analysis and recommend solutions to improve Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability.
  • Assist in lifecycle processes: analysis of alternatives, investment strategies, design, manufacturing, support, and end-of-life.
  • Translate user needs into system requirements and develop/review system design baselines and interoperability.
  • Analyze proposals, specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Participate in IPTs, TIMs, design reviews, IPRs, and audits.
  • Support development of requirements and technology planning; assist in mission/technical analyses and trade studies.
  • Review and support system design baseline and developmental planning aligned with military mission needs.
  • Evaluate design feasibility and compatibility; analyze policy-driven design changes.
  • Develop/review specs including system segments, equipment, CDRLs, and ICDs.
  • Conduct systems analysis, feasibility studies, and configuration audits.
  • Support IMP, IMS, and SEDS development and engineering cost estimates.
  • Evaluate test plans and participate in system/component testing.
  • Provide integration support during acquisition, development, and verification phases.
  • Conduct lifecycle support analyses and trade studies in performance, cost, risk, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate with management, support engineering-related committees and decision-making boards.
  • Evaluate technical data items including specs, drawings, plans, and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of systems engineering and safety documents, test plans, and acquisition program documentation.
  • Provide technical planning for aircrew/maintenance training systems and recommend policy changes.
  • Participate in bed-down planning for both CONUS and OCONUS sites.
  • Provide technical guidance and feasibility evaluations; monitor technology trends and risk assessment.
  • Participate in meetings and support investigations and proposal evaluations.
  • Sign NDAs and contribute to source selection boards in a non-voting advisory role.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation (SCGs, PSDs, TA/CPs, PPPs, AT plans).
  • Support secure facility planning and documentation aligned with U.S. export laws and DoD policies.
  • Ensure ERM-compliant record-keeping.
  • Support the Program Protection Plan (PPP), including CPI/SCRM identification, threat/vulnerability analysis, and cost-effective countermeasures.
  • Assist with management of assigned programs, including interoperability and joint/multinational systems.
  • Support Cybersecurity, Mission Assurance, AT, and platform integration efforts.
  • Provide IA and SSE support, including cyber architecture and risk assessments.
  • Conduct weapons system capability analyses and support data-driven, interoperable enterprise information environments.
  • Identify and address technical and architectural risks, including interoperability and system integration into the broader enterprise.

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
  • MA/MS Degree with 10 years of directly related experience or BA/BS with 12 years of directly related experience or 15 years of directly related experience to this discipline.
  • Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Secret Level.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and other standard applications.
