Job Summary



Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Senior Training Specialist L4 to join our dynamic Mobile Training Team (MTT), responsible for delivering high-impact, mission-focused training to Department of Defense (DoD) personnel across various home station sites in CONUS and OCONUS environments. This role directly supports operational readiness by developing and executing institutional, tactical, and technical training aligned with current service-specific doctrine, mission objectives, and evolving operational requirements.


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in military instruction, curriculum development, and adult learning methodologies. This role requires a flexible, self-driven professional capable of engaging diverse military audiences and adapting to various instructional environments-including classroom, virtual, and scenario-based training formats.


Skills / Experience Required


* Active TS/SCI Clearance (requires)
* 12+ years of experience in military training, education, or operational support roles, with emphasis on instructor-led and tactical/technical instruction
* 5+ years supporting Mobile Training Teams (MTT) or equivalent expeditionary/institutional training efforts
* Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%) to CONUS and OCONUS sites as required
* Experience delivering instruction to diverse military audiences (enlisted, officer, warrant officer, and civilian)
* Familiarity with training support systems such as DTMS, ALMS, Blackboard, JKO, or service-specific LMS platforms
* Apply Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles (e.g., ADDIE) to update and maintain training materials
* Demonstrated application of ISD methodologies (ADDIE) for training design, evaluation, and lesson plan development
* Experience integrating feedback, AARs, and student assessments into curriculum improvement cycles
* Training Specialists assigned to Army Space Training Division (ASTD) may be required to become licensed, trained, certified and road tested on all tactical equipment they are required to operate, and are required to maintain a valid state driver's license. For non-tactical vehicles supporting 16 or more passengers, personnel may be required to obtain and maintain a valid commercial driver's license. Drivers are required to complete Army accident-avoidance training as required, provided by the designated Government representative.
* Ability to operate and instruct within classified environments (SIPR, JWICS), adhering to DoD INFOSEC and physical security guidelines
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and briefing skills to engage with stakeholders and leadership
* Prior experience supporting PME, collective training events, or field exercises such as Warfighter, JRTC, or JWA is highly desirable
* Plan, coordinate, and execute training missions in support of Home Station MTT operations for Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Joint clients
* Develop and deliver standardized curriculum, tailored modules, and mission-specific instruction aligned with current doctrine and TTPs
* Facilitate hands-on, scenario-based, and classroom instruction across unclassified and classified domains
* Conduct training needs analyses and after-action reviews (AARs) to assess effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
* Coordinate with unit commanders, training managers, and higher headquarters to align training objectives with mission profiles
* Maintain compliance with DoD and service-specific training regulations, records retention standards, and OPSEC requirements
* Mentor junior instructors and serve as the senior facilitator or lead trainer during complex MTT deployments

Education / Certifications


* Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Military Studies, Organizational Development, or a related field (required)
* Master's degree (preferred, but not required) in Training, Leadership, or a related field
* Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC), Small Group Instructor Training Course (SGITC), or Service equivalent instructor certification (highly preferred)
* Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Instructional Designer certification (preferred)

Security Clearance



Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.



Physical Requirements



Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
