Moog is growing in Huntsville, Alabama
Moog Defense is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for the following markets: missiles, military ground vehicles, and naval vessels. This candidate will be working on Navigation, Guidance, and Control related programs.
The selected candidate will be assigned roles that focus on learning the language and basic principles of system engineering. This will include determining the customer’s needs, Moog product architecture, analysis approaches and project management processes (cost and schedule). They will also be expected to learn the product development process. Primary activities will be in supporting subsections of the overall system engineering responsibilities while being mentored by other project, system or design engineers.
Responsibilities include:
• Validate conceptual design problems by performing trade studies, detailed analysis and simulation models.
• Contribute to the product development through participation in the integration and test of components.
• Contribute to the creation, development and management of requirements databases and interface control documents.
• Create concise reports and proposal write-ups that describe the design decisions and analysis results.
• Contribute to the preparation of successful proposals. Contributions to include verification and validation approaches, component level design requirements, requirements compliance assessment and technical write-ups
• Manage assigned work within authorized budget and schedule.
• Operate as a contributing member of in a team of creative, independent individuals
• Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its strong technical reputation.
Qualifications:
• Master of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering or Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering plus 2+ years of experience in a design / development engineering is required. A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology is not acceptable.
• Proven general capabilities/competencies in Adaptability, Decision Making, Initiating Action, and Communication.
