Amentum is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician II on Andros Island, Bahamas. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of functions including inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure proper operation of fire/intrusion alarm systems and fire suppression systems in accordance with NFPA, NAVOSH, and UFC standards. They will also conduct fire and life safety inspections throughout all AUTEC facilities and respond to fires and other emergencies as a member of an emergency response team. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop schedules for conducting regulatory Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems.
- Develop schedules and plans for upgrading existing Fire Alarm Systems to meet current UFC/NFC code requirements.
- Conduct Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance on Fire Alarm systems including but not limited to replacing batteries, detection and alerting devices in compliance with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and install various types of complete fire detection and notification systems to include software programming.
- Investigating trouble alarms and malfunctions to determine the cause of a malfunction.
- Identify, coordinate and monitor vendor services as needed.
- Verify alarm transmission of Dry/Wet Chemical extinguishing systems.
- Verify alarm transmission of water-based sprinkler systems.
- Complete connections to commercial kitchen exhaust hood and installed chemical suppression system alarm interface.
- Responsible for completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.
- Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
- Read and understand his/her Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
- Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
- Review engineering designs and plans to ensure code compliance as it applies to Fire Alarm Systems.
- Provide technical advice to the Fire Chief.
- Document inspection, maintenance and repair activities.
- Produce reports and records and maintain data management systems as required.
- Perform other position related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent.
- NICET II certification and 5 years of experience working as a Fire Alarm Technician.
- Must have knowledge and experience with electronic equipment to include test equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
- Must have knowledge of dry chemical and water based extinguishing systems.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance.
- Lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds of equipment or materials.
- Strong skills with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.
- Valid U.S. passport and driver's license are required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) transmitting and receiving equipment preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with conventional and fiber optic communication systems preferred.
- Experience with Edwards, Kidde, Honeywell, and Monaco systems is preferred.
- DoD Fire Inspector I and II preferred.
