We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team and support our mission critical customer in Reston, VA. As our Systems Administrator you will:
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Plan, design, and implement infrastructure changes and system upgrades.
- Manage and troubleshoot multiple VMware environments.
- Provide Windows Server and Linux administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Create STIG compliant images for Windows Desktop, Windows Server, and Linux OS.
- Create, test, and deploy software packages using software deployment products such as SCCM, PDQ, etc.
- Provide expert level support and mentoring for Mid and Junior System Administrator personnel.
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures for system and software changes.
- Utilize scripting to automate common tasks.
- Perform hardware maintenance/repair activities.
- Ensure proper planning and execution of major projects/maintenance activities.
- Provide advanced level administration and troubleshooting of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and Domain Controllers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience related to specific functional area
- Currently hold, or be able to attain a CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent IAT Level II
- Experience and knowledge on:
- Ability to write scripts using PowerShell and/or Bash.
- Experience managing VMware, Nutanix, and other types of enterprise level Virtual Infrastructures.
- Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Active Directory and Group Policy Object (GPO).
- Working collaboratively across cross-functional teams of all experience levels
- Monitoring and managing system resources, including CPU, storage, and other cloud resources to maintain operating efficiency performance.
- Performing systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
- Experience setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating resources for database and other application hosting.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Linux OS (CentOS, RHEL) administration.
- Satellite server administration.
- Ansible playbook writing.
- Implementing STIGs.
- Experience supporting a software configuration management and development environment.
