Raytheon is seeking an Industrial Engineer Manager to support the Surveillance portfolio of factories to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer. Industrial Engineers are responsible for labor performance analyses, process and value stream mapping, line balancing, capacity planning, manpower planning, factory layouts, factory simulations, strategic planning, project management, continuous improvement, and more. Industrial Engineer Managers will oversee staffing, management, and professional growth of industrial engineers supporting multiple customers in varying capacities.

This role will be based out of McKinney, TX. and requires strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills, along with experience in industrial engineering and process improvement within a manufacturing environment. Each day presents new and exciting challenges, reinforcing our mission to deliver to those who defend us.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and manage a team of industrial engineers, including hiring and staffing, setting annual goals, assigning tasks, providing direction and guidance, coaching and supporting career development discussions, evaluating performance, approving timecards and expense reports, and resolving issues requiring managerial support.
  • Ensure industrial engineering activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, ethical standards, and company policies, and ensure employee compliance with company policies and specific training requirements.
  • Work closely with other organizations including Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control and Logistics, Facilities, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, and Quality to ensure alignment and achieve business objectives.
  • Provide oversight for project planning, coordination, and execution to support business objectives, organizational initiatives, and industrial engineering standard work to improve manufacturing processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Offer guidance in identifying key performance indicators and opportunities for process improvements to improve cost, quality and schedule performance.
  • Oversee Lean Transformation initiatives and factory modeling and forecasting using process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, capacity analyses, discrete event simulations, and CAD drawings graphically showing production processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and anticipated results.
  • Ensure resource utilization and throughput constraints support the forecasted demand.
  • Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce undesirable effects, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals.
  • Influence factory roadmaps and investment strategies by supporting infrastructure improvement and expansion proposals, and planning the integration of new products, technologies, and equipment that create a competitive advantage.
  • Prepare and present executive presentations on project status, performance metrics, and other key industrial engineering topics to senior leadership.
  • Oversee the industrial engineering support of new production contracts/new product proposals and new product integration efforts.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to Raytheon's culture of people and product safety.
  • Contribute to the advancement of industrial engineering at Raytheon.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or similar engineering discipline with typically minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience or 8 years of relevant experience with a master's degree in a similar discipline
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security
    clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens
    are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Excellent organizational, managerial, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience and/or education in factory layout and work cell design/optimization
  • Experience and/or education in simulation modeling and capacity analysis tools/methods
  • Experience and/or education in project management
  • Experience and/or education in CAD software
  • Six Sigma certifications
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence without authority

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
