Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a TS/SCI Cleared Systems Engineer to support cutting-edge satellite communications and cloud-based operations for the United States Space Force (USSF). This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced technologies such as laser optical communication, phased array antennas for our clients' cloud-integrated Satellite Operations Centers (SOCs) in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities for Systems Engineer:
- Provide Systems Engineering expertise across the full system lifecycle—from concept development to operations and sustainment—for cloud-based SOCs and emerging ground-to-satellite communication technologies.
- Lead technical oversight of development efforts, including design, manufacturing, integration, testing, and sustainment using both traditional and agile acquisition methods.
- Develop operational concepts, system requirements, architectural designs, and network diagrams; evolve system architectures and implement verification methodologies.
- Conduct requirements analysis and flow-down, and manage risk identification and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with U.S. Government and commercial providers to integrate communications between SOCs, SATCOM Ground Entry Points, and cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure all network and system solutions comply with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
Qualifications for Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience, Master's degree with 7+ years, or PhD with 4+ years in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience leading hardware/software integration activities and architecting Systems-of-Systems.
- Understanding of mission planning tools
- Expertise in network and communications systems design, implementation, and testing.
- Experience with cloud-based architectures such as Ground Segment as a Service and Antenna as a Service.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps development methodologies.
- Must have an active Top Secret, T5 or SSBI security clearance, adjudicated for SCI eligibility, and/or be enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
- Willingness to be nominated for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP), and to undergo a Polygraph examination.
Compensation for Systems Engineer:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience and education level ranging from $160,000-$210,000
