Job Description
SATCOM SME
The SATCOM SME will support our AISR customer. This position is remote.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SATCOM operations testing and troubleshooting: terminals, modems and baseband (including COMSEC/TRANSEC).
Detailed knowledge and experience with AISR architecture, systems and equipment to include FMV Dissemination, SATCOM Tactical Relays, Platforms and Ground Stations.
Develop test plans, conduct test events and generate test reports.
Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning for networks ranging from small scale to complex next-generation networking capabilities
Perform network changes, ensuring compliance with defined procedures and ensuring clear and effective communication with all relevant stakeholders
Develop system specifications and technical requirements, project planning, risk management, customer relationship management, quality assurance, enterprise-level systems development, software security architecture and best practices.
Attend meetings, working groups, design reviews, and technology discussions which will need to be analyzed, filtered, and captured within architecture development initiatives.
Monitors system performance and implement performance optimizations to identify and rectify issues
Documents network issues and resolutions for future reference
Manages all system back-ups and restorations
Manage user accounts, permissions, and network security
Maintain all licensing and information and manage software security
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager as required. Duties may include:
Communications Security (COMSEC) Keying Material (KEYMAT) handling
Familiarization with Cryptographic Controlled Items (CCI)
Transmission Security (TRANSEC) coordination
Modems to include management and data interface configurations
Lab management and test-bed hardware and software maintenance
Cybersecurity STIG Compliance
Conduct Training of AISR Equipment and Systems
QUALIFICATIONS
15 years of hands-on experience with DoD AISR and commercial and military SATCOM systems and ground stations, to include 3 of the following 5 areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Data Analysis, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Experience may be achieved simultaneously.
Experience configuring network protocols and technologies to include MPLS, BGP/MBGP/iBGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IPSEC, RIP, and DMVPN
Experience configuring Multicast protocols and technologies to include PIM, IGMP, MSDP, and MDS
Experience configuring Access control, NGFWs, and encryption (IPSEC, SSL, PKI)
Experience configuring Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Virtual Routing Forwarding (VRF), Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE), and Quality of Service (QoS) protocols on classified and unclassified networks
Experience working with a variety of Cisco and Palo Alto Network Operating Systems (PAN-OS and IOS XR/XE).
Experience working with management protocols SNMPv3, ACS, Radius/TACACS+ 8years of related experience in design and computer network architecture and data communication networks
Demonstrable experience in configuring, implementing, installing, commissioning and supporting data LAN and WAN network solutions based on Cisco products
In-depth understanding of network infrastructure routing and switching concepts and technologies, advanced IP addressing, dynamic routing protocols
In-depth understanding of end-to-end secure network concepts, technologies and protocols including Access control, Next generation, stateful firewalls technologies, Intrusion Prevention, Encryption (IPSEC, SSL, PKI), and security events
Proven troubleshooting and problem diagnosis skills
Platform technology knowledge and experience of:
Cisco branch, service and edge router platforms
Cisco Digital Network Architecture
Cisco Campus Lan switches
Cisco Firepower, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances, and Palo Alto Firewalls
DoD 8140 Requirements: CompTIA Network+ & CompTIA Security+ or CCNA Security
