Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Manager where you will be the Chief of the Commanders Action Group (CAG) assigned to the Systems Delta 85 (SYD 85), a United States Space Force organization located at Peterson Space Force Base near Colorado Springs, CO. Odyssey is in search of an experienced professional interested in joining a fast-paced, dynamic team supporting the United States Space Force organization responsible for the development and sustainment of missile warning, missile defense, space domain awareness and command and control systems.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Recommend viable solutions to problems and the pursuit of alternative courses of action
  • Be highly effective in communicating verbally and in written communications, including the development of talking papers and white papers on behalf of the Commander and Deputy Commander
  • Analyze a wide-range of survey results, industry and military organizational studies and papers, and provide meaningful observations and applicable recommendations to the Commander and Deputy Commander
  • Coordinate staff packages including, but not limited to, public affairs products, acquisition documents, and personnel administrative documents
  • Support executive-level administrative duties
  • Manage internal and external taskers as well as special projects assigned by the Commander and Deputy Commander from cradle-to-grave
  • Interact effectively, provide advice, and assist the Commander and Deputy Commander and Senior Staff on strategic initiatives
  • Provide strategic and tactical support to System Program Directors, System Program Managers, and SYD Staff
  • Ensure team effectively manages Department of the Air Force databases including the Task Management Tool on behalf of the Commander and Deputy Commander
  • Support planning and execution of the executive level program and organization reviews such as the Senior Management Forum and stakeholder meetings with Mission Delta (Space Wing), Field Command, COCOM, and commercial partners
  • Provide critical thought in areas to improve staffing processes; anticipate staffing needs for the commander and deputy commander; and determining relevance of tasks to the organization
  • Implement and execute Agile concepts and processes (not software related) in daily activities associated with the CAG
  • Demonstrate examples of forming, measuring, and achieving Objectives and Key Results


Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Must have and maintain an active DOD Secret security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret

Education: High School Diploma

Years of Experience: 15 years of related experience OR
  • BS/BA Degree and 8 years' experience with the responsibilities listed in this posting

Additional Qualifications:
  • Possess DAG, PEO Action Group, or Commander's Action Group (or equivalent) experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage suspenses and tasks levied from higher headquarters from initiation to close out
  • Experience writing talking papers/point papers, and communicating verbally to senior (O-6 and above) leaders
  • Experience in using Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and MS Teams Collaboration Software


Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: Active DOD Top Secret clearance

Certification: DAWIA Level II certification (or equivalent) in Program Management, Logistics, or Engineering

Education: BS/BA Degree and 8 years' experience with the responsibilities listed in this posting OR,
  • MA/MS Degree and 6 years experience with the responsibilities listed in this posting

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Atlassian Software tools such as Confluence and JIRA; experience with MS SharePoint
  • Familiarity with the DOD organizational structure, in particular US Space Force and US Air Force

Location: Peterson Space Force Base

Travel: 10%

Remote, On-site, or Hybrid: Hybrid- Approx. 1-2 days remote but up to Government discretion
