Position Overview
The SailPoint IIQ / CyberArk Systems Engineer provides comprehensive technical support, configuration management, and operational oversight for the IRS BEARS Identity and Access Management (IAM) environments. This role is responsible for the lifecycle management, optimization, and secure operation of SailPoint IIQ and CyberArk systems, ensuring alignment with Treasury WC2H and BEARS program standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SailPoint IdentityIQ, system integration, and performance tuning in complex, secure infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration & Maintenance
Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SailPoint IIQ software, plugins, and supporting infrastructure.
Manage hardware and OS specifications across database and application tiers.
Conduct compatibility analysis for custom code, connectors, server configurations, and database versions.
Plan and execute upgrades for Java, IQService agents, and associated components.
Develop rollback, contingency, and structured testing plans to minimize downtime.
Performance & Operations Management
Conduct performance analysis and tuning to optimize IIQ and CyberArk environments.
Manage database administration tasks including monitoring tempdb usage, managing storage, and user permissions.
Deliver reporting and analytics solutions, including custom report design and optimization.
Oversee backup strategies, health monitoring, log analysis, and scheduled job execution.
I
nfrastructure & Integration
Support setup, configuration, and patching of new and upgraded servers across environments (Dev/Test/Prod).
Configure load balancers, monitor metrics, and maintain infrastructure documentation.
Coordinate firewall change requests and update network diagrams and specifications.
Manage cloud infrastructure components (VPC, EC2, storage, load balancers) and ensure HA/DR readiness.
Act as the technical POC for WC2H and BEARS teams, providing troubleshooting and integration support.
Identity Governance & Connector Development
Design and manage HDAP stores, attribute synchronization, and reconciliation SLAs.
Develop and maintain connectors (AD/LDAP, JDBC/SQL, AzureAD/O365, *nix) and implement correlation logic.
Integrate zero-trust frameworks into request and certification campaigns.
Implement SoD enforcement, ownership attribution, and FTI/PII data governance controls.
Develop workflows for provisioning, deprovisioning, multi-stage approvals, and exception handling.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Develop and maintain operational runbooks, onboarding guides, and technical documentation.
Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with CDM and program team members.
Support access request workflows, incident response, and change management processes.
Qualifications
3–4 years of hands-on SailPoint IdentityIQ experience in enterprise or federal environments.
Demonstrated experience with CyberArk administration, integration, and operational support.
Strong understanding of IAM concepts, Zero Trust, and Segregation of Duties (SoD).
Proficiency in Java, SQL, and Windows/Linux administration.
Experience supporting cloud-based infrastructures (AWS) including HA/DR documentation.
Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD, and JDBC/SQL connectors.
Excellent documentation, communication, and coordination skills within large program teams.
Preferred
Experience in federal environments or Treasury / IRS BEARS programs.
Exposure to DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Terraform) for deployment automation.
Certifications in SailPoint IIQ or CyberArk are a plus.
