Data Engineer

We are seeking a proactive, technically skilled Data Engineer to join our onsite team in Hampton, VA, supporting a critical client initiative. This role centers on implementing mission-critical dashboards, connecting and standardizing diverse data sources, integrating backend systems, and accelerating data-driven decision-making across platforms. The successful candidate will work directly with mission data stakeholders, fellow data developers, and client teams to enhance aircraft availability and foster a predictive, actionable approach to mission readiness.

Work You'll Do

As a Project Delivery Senior Analyst on the project, you will:

• Identify & Manage Connections: Establish and manage secure, reliable access to various internal/external data sources key to mission outcomes.
• Integrate Systems: Collaborate with data owners to build data pipelines and enable robust automation and exchange between backend platforms.
• Data Standardization & ETL Development
• Enforce Standards: Develop, implement, and maintain data standards, schemas, and transformation logic, ensuring accuracy and usability across platforms.
• ETL Optimization: Design, build, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data ingestion, cleaning, and preparation-supporting effective reporting and analytics, particularly within the BLADE environment.
• Dashboard Implementation & Visualization
• Design & Maintain Dashboards: Create and sustain interactive dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to visualize key metrics, readiness indicators, and trends relevant to aircraft availability and mission outcomes.
• Quality Assurance & Documentation
• Monitor Quality: Continuously oversee data integrity, troubleshooting issues, implementing validation checks, and ensuring data fidelity.
• Document Workflows: Record data architectures, integration procedures, and standardization logic for transparency and ongoing improvement.
• Collaboration, Communication & Version Control
• Team Engagement: Partner closely with cross-functional teams-stakeholders, developers, and clients-to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Version Management: Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage dashboard releases and updates efficiently.
• Reporting: Clearly communicate technical details, project status, risks, and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree required
• Active Secret security clearance required
• 2+ years' experience in data engineering or a similar technical role
• 2+ years of experience in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, etc.)
• 1+ years of experience with BI/dashboarding tools (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
• 1+ Years of experience Developing ETL process, API integration, and Data modeling
• Ability to work onsite daily at the client site in Hampton, VA
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Ability to travel 15-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clientsandindustries/sectorsyou serve

Preferred Skills:

• Experience Developing ETL processes within the BLADE environment
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and clear communication skills
