We're in search of an Accountant Consultant to join our team and collaborate directly with our government contracting clients. In this role, you'll be an integral part of our accounting and finance client services team, providing accounting support throughout the entire accounting- lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting/Finance Support for Government Contracting Clients

  • Accounts Payable: Operate the Accounts Payable module, including setup of vendors. Monitor Client email inbox for Vendor communications. Review and process vendor vouchers, ensuring proper project, organization, and account coding. Upload copies of all Vendor Vouchers into client’s folders, verify approvals and support documentation. Process voucher payments and maintain up-to-date AP aging reports.
  • Accounts Receivable & Billing: Operate the Accounts Receivable and Projects modules, including preparation, review, and posting of customer invoices from draft to final billing. Validate unbilled analyses, reconcile billed versus revenue accounts, and support revenue recognition based on contract type (T&M, FFP, CPFF). Work with client Project Managers on individual contracts to complete monthly contract reporting requirements.
  • Project Reporting: Perform monthly processing of cost pools and project costs withing the project module. Manage accurate project management reports, ensuring tie-out of the General Ledger to subledgers.
  • Journal Entries & Allocations: Prepare, review, and post recurring and manual journal entries.
  • Reconciliations & Close: Perform formal account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts—including prepaids, fixed assets, accrued expenses, and intercompany accounts. Reconcile bank, credit card, and line-of-credit accounts to the General Ledger, promptly researching and resolving variances. Support month-end close for multiple engagements, ensuring accuracy of all workpapers and month-end close packs.
  • Compliance & Audit Readiness: Maintain detailed audit trails and supporting documentation of all transactions to ensure Costpoint data integrity and compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA standards.

Account Management:

  • Facilitate regular client communication and participate in internal and external client status calls.
  • Build strong client relationships by understanding their business needs and anticipating challenges .
  • Maintain proactive communication with team members, clients, and leadership.
  • Fulfill any additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of full life cycle accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience with Deltek Costpoint.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Experience in a GovCon accounting environment & familiarity with FAR & DCAA compliance highly preferred.
  • Experience in multiple GovCon accounting systems is a plus, with proficiency in Unanet.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to proactively support multiple projects and timelines efficiently.
  • Initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills a must.

Salary Range: $75K-$95K (Salary commensurate with experience)
