Overview

VTG is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support a U.S. Government Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) program in Washington, DC. This is a hybrid role. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of relational databases and will use data analysis, visualization, and reporting techniques to help identify and assess risks across complex supply chains. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful national security work in a collaborative, analytical environment.

What will you do?

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to suppliers, vendors, and global supply chain networks.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate data-driven insights to government stakeholders.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and transform data from relational databases.
  • Use Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, trend analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and potential risk indicators through descriptive and diagnostic analysis.
  • Support the development of analytic products and briefings for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to identify and solve supply chain business cases.

Do you have what it takes?

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Two+ years of experience.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and managing data.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases for querying and analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data visualization, and automation).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must have and maintain a Secret clearance-eligible for a Top Secret clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.


Desired Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience coding in Python for data analysis, manipulation, and automation (using pandas, numpy, or similar libraries).
  • Understanding of supply chain management, logistics, or risk analysis concepts.
  • Exposure to federal data systems or government contracting environments.
  • Experience working with large, complex, or multi-source datasets.
  • Experience in statistical modeling and machine learning based on the analysis of large sets of data.


Travel Requirements:

Minimal travel, mostly in the Washington DC area.

This position is contingent upon contract award

Pay Range: VTG's estimated starting pay range is $90 ,000-$115,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
