As part of Global Comms and Navigation, you will use your system engineering skills to excel as you provide interpretation, guidance and long-term program planning managing critical product development relationships that provide our customer with information needed to coordinate, evaluate, integrate, and approve changes and/or modifications to the operational capability increments and configuration baseline for implementation on operationally fielded products.

In this role you will apply systems-engineering disciplines and digital tools to evolve into a subject-matter expert to drive disciplined baseline governance of operational capabilities.

• Systems Engineering issue and release owner for satellite mission control segment, flight software and system database issues, including SE oversight to problems first presented at WGs; understand issues from a technical and programmatic perspective; manage Baseline Control Board issues in Jira and Engineering Review Board/System Software Review Board; maintain and present with concise technical and programmatic understanding
• Become cognizant of all aspects of technical baseline control management, including operational release content and planning, release schedules and interdependencies, and ensuring release content meets operational change process requirements
• Provide comprehensive Systems Engineering oversight for Space related technical issues and attend and actively contribute to Space Working Groups
• Work closely with SMEs, CPEs, RSEs, and the customer to resolve issues and align on requirements
• Provide Systems Engineering oversight to, and support complex operations meetings and oversight to subsystems
• Serve as the requirement documents technical owner and shepherd changes through the release process
• Lead the Systems Engineering effort for advanced Delivery Orders (DOs) by developing strong technical understanding of the enhancements, driving requirements development, and chairing meetings. Includes develop and conduct of demos, verify results, assess solutions and trades, innovate in real-time
• Participate in studies and system trades for on-ramping of enhanced capabilities
• Mentor junior engineers in systems engineering and guide them to become technical systems engineers with a Systems Thinker mindset
• Receive planned recurring training in specific subjects; self-train using training material and specs/ICDs
• Support stretch assignments, such as proposal support, independent review team

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with systems engineering principles and processes
• Prior work experience with satellite and/or ground systems
• Current and Active Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technical discipline or closely related field
• Prior experience in the operations and sustainment phase of a contract
• Experience working on customer led working groups with multiple disciplines
• Experience with customer program reviews and technical design reviews
• Proficiency with Agile tools, techniques and associated business rhythms
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work collaboratively across engineering disciplines
• Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in self-directed manner, work independently, and leverage best practices

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
