The Work
As a Systems Engineer on the Owego-based Naval Helicopter Programs (NHP), you will play a central role in the design, development, and integration of avionics and mission systems for advanced aircraft programs.
You will contribute to system design and requirements development, ensuring system architectures, interfaces, and behaviors align with customer and program needs.
You will be integral to identifying, analyzing, and resolving software and system-level defects to maintain mission readiness and reliability.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent STEM field with 2 years related professional experience or no experience required with a related Masters Degree.
Experience with development of software requirements and working collaboratively with software engineers in the design, development, and test of software.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance at the Secret level.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of system design, requirements definition, and documentation.
Experience working on cross-functional teams (Hardware, Software, Integration/Test).
Current active Secret security clearance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, but work independently on assigned work.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
