Program Overview

Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end-users with high-quality IT platform and network services over an eight-year period.

About The Role

Peraton requires an Asset Manager - Software License and Subscription Analyst to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. This position is located at MacDill, AFB in Tampa Florida.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

Responsibilities: The Software Asset Manager will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of software assets across USSOCOM's IT Enterprise, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, optimizing software usage, and mitigating risks. Responsibilities include:
  • Monitor and manage multiple data repositories and or mid-range application servers for tracking software licensing metadata and support agreements.
  • Understands systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces for computer systems.
  • Track licenses, maintenance plans, renewal information, and media for software.
  • Identify and report license compliance issues.
  • Coordinates with software systems engineering or applications developers as necessary to correct errors.
  • Perform periodic audits to reconcile licenses utilized with authorized licenses.
  • Conduct periodic license reviews 120 days prior to the expiration of software license and maintenance agreements.
  • Maintain warranty and maintenance coverage for software, including contractor-purchased and Government-purchased items.
  • Provide monthly reports on the status of license expirations.
  • Advise the Software Manager on software acquisition and discontinuation decisions.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with software license compliance.
  • Recommend licenses adjustments base on usage data.
  • Support the development and maintenance of approved policies and procedures for effective software asset lifecycle management.
  • Develop and report on key metrics to measure the effectiveness of software asset management processes.
  • License Requirements/Renewal Reports: Documenting licensing needs and renewal schedules as required/requested.
  • Develop Asset Inventory and Tracking Reports: Providing updated software inventory status.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Min 6 years with HS degree, 4 years with AS/AA degree, 2 years with BS/BA
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software asset management, including tracking, auditing, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in managing enterprise-wide software license agreements, maintenance plans, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting software usage trends and mitigating software-related risks.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with USSOCOM's IT systems and operational environments.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) software licensing policies and procedures.
  • Expertise in software license audits and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification
  • Strong understanding of warranty and maintenance coverage for software assets.
  • Advanced reporting and communication skills to provide visibility into asset management effectiveness.
  • Ability to recommend and implement process improvements to optimize software management.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
