Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an open opportunity for a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Administrator to join our team at our Plymouth, Minnesota location in either a Part-Time or Full-Time capacity. In this role, you will support our MBSE initiatives across various projects, ensuring that our modeling practices, tools, and processes integrate seamlessly with our requirements, design, and verification activities.

Position Description

The MBSE Administrator serves as the cornerstone for the effective implementation and management of model-based systems engineering practices in our MBSE tool throughout the lifecycle of our programs. Reporting to the Systems Engineering leadership, you will partner with engineering teams and stakeholders to maintain, enhance, and advance our MBSE framework. Key responsibilities include:
  • MBSE Tool Administration: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of MBSE tools and environments, including systems modeling software and PLM/data management platforms.
  • Process and Standards Management: Develop, document, and update MBSE procedures and standards to ensure consistency, compliance, and best practices across all projects.
  • Training and Support: Provide expert guidance and training to engineers and project teams on MBSE tool usage, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable work environment.
  • Repository and Data Integrity: Administer model repositories and version control systems to ensure models are current, traceable, and integrated with requirements and system data.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with systems engineers and other technical teams to facilitate the integration of MBSE processes into overall system development efforts, including supporting requirements tracing, technology assessments, and interface definitions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvements and recommend enhancements to MBSE practices and toolsets, ensuring that our capabilities remain at the cutting edge of industry standards.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Monitor and report on the performance of MBSE initiatives, ensuring that all systems meet technical specifications and quality standards throughout their operational lifecycle.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate of Applied Science in Systems Engineering Technology or related STEM field
  • 2 years of experience relevant to configuration, maintenance, and optimization of MBSE tools and environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain a DOD security clearance to a level of Secret.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) and data management tools.
  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or similar systems modeling software.
  • Proficiency in Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and familiarity with architecture frameworks such as the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with lifecycle modeling and modern systems engineering methodologies.
  • Experience using collaboration and project management tools such as GIT/Bitbucket, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Tools.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence
  • Experience with Data Visualization.


Primary Level Salary Range: $77,600.00 - $116,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
