GDIT is seeking a Defense Intelligence BD Director with primary responsibility for leading identification, qualification, and pursuing new business opportunities within the Defense Intelligence business within the Intelligence and Homeland Security Division. The successful candidate will report to the VP of the Growth, National Intelligence Sector.
The position involves expanding GDIT's penetration in the Defense Intelligence market to include driving and building win strategies for market segments and specific opportunities as well as leading customer-, stakeholder-, and industry interface for the business. The ideal candidate demonstrates a deep understanding of the Defense Intelligence Community including organizational structure, mission priorities and procurement methodology and tendencies, and competitive landscape both from a prime and subcontractor perspective. The successful candidate leverages this knowledge to develop customer-focused campaigns, create and execute customer and partner engagement plans, and provide thought leadership in the marketplace leading to the development and execution of GDIT go-to-market account plans.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your initiative and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Business Development Director must have:
• Education: Bachelor's degree required
• Experience: 15+ years of Intelligence Community experience with 7+ years of business development-related experience in the Defense Intelligence Community markets and a demonstrable track record of engagement and success
• Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint
• Candidates must also be a highly collaborative leader who can effectively build and lead matrixed teams and contribute effectively as a team member or individual contributor
• Successful track record advancing new business development strategies and information technology solutions through development and execution of plans
• Proven ability to build relationships and lead through influence at all levels of the organization
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills (to include prior experience in briefing senior leadership)
• Proven track record of identifying and closing on new business opportunities in relevant markets (providing a non-proprietary deal sheet would be helpful)
• Security clearance level: TS/SCI POLY required to start
• US citizenship required
• Role requirements: Position is hybrid and based in Herndon, VA office. Local travel to customers and industry locations is expected

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
- Provide critical leadership across the new business capture lifecycle - from opportunity identification, qualification, and win strategy development through the post submission phase
- Provide business development leadership for Defense Intelligence accounts
- Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, formulate, communicate and implement an integrated business development and capture strategy that provides customers a clear and defensible justification for selecting GDIT for the award
- Develop, lead, and implement campaign or market plans and strategies, maintain a firm comprehension of the customer's requirements, and understand the strengths/weaknesses of our position and of our competitors
- Establish value-added teaming strategies based on gap analysis to improve PWIN and to create a profitable return at a winning bid price enabling a reasonable margin
- Analyze markets for company products and services and recommend strategies to achieve marketing/business development goals
- Perform business development functions including networking, research, tracking opportunities, and communicating updates with stakeholders to increase business branding, opportunities, and growth
- Meet with current and potential clients to ascertain their requirements and apprise them of company capabilities
- Collaborate, coordinate, and exchange information and leads with line managers, the MSP BD Lead position and other personnel
- Develop proposals, solutions, plans of action, business plans, and marketing materials through writing market survey responses and ensuring sufficient resources are applied to achieve milestones
- Support, create, and present New Business Reviews, Pursuit Reviews, and Business Area Reviews as well as other material for communication of opportunities and pipeline status with business leadership and stakeholders
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies in order to successfully meet client requirements
- Support the Growth team in managing and tracking status of NDAs/TAs, subcontract relationships, end-to-end growth team activities, and opportunities for strategic captures within the NIS Sector as needed
