Boeing is looking for Experienced C-17 General Mechanic (Papa AFB, Hungary) to join our team in Papa AFB, Hungary.
This is a long term assignment to Papa, Hungary, subject to business conditions and individual performance. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international relocation will be provided.
This position is part of the on-site C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program maintenance team supporting the Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) C-17 aircraft based at Papa AFB, Hungary. Applicant will participate in organizational level maintenance activities (e.g. flight line tasks including aircraft servicing, inspections, fault diagnosis and component replacement, and structural repair) associated with day-to-day operations of C-17 Globemaster III aircraft to meet SAC mission requirements. Additionally, participation in Intermediate level maintenance activities (e.g. back-shop tasks including component repair, test set operation, battery charging, and scheduled periodic inspections) will be required.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:
- Assembles, disassembles and troubleshoots all assemblies by changing, removing and replacing aerospace vehicle components, using general aerospace maintenance practices and aerospace product specifications to correct failures.
- Removes and replaces components for repair, replacement or testing to support product serviceability.
- Resolves and corrects complex problems during operation, maintenance and repair of deliverable products.
- Leads assembly, disassembly or overhaul functions to ensure adequacy, accuracy and thoroughness of product assembly, disassembly and overhauls.
- Measures and makes adjustments using shims, lapping or other documented processes, to satisfy specifications ensure correct tolerances are obtained.
- Plans and coordinates the activities of other technicians to ensure timely repairs
- Independently performs routine functional/diagnostic tests and troubleshoots aerospace/missile systems, using monitoring instruments and bench/automated test equipment, to determine root cause of initial or isolated failures.
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components to ensure serviceability.
- Troubleshoots for customers, using established fault isolation procedures, in order to isolate mechanical or electrical faults.
- Calls out routine repairs and advises less experienced technicians on how to analyze test results.
- Directs routine and complex functional/diagnostic tests and troubleshoots aerospace/missile systems, using monitoring instruments and bench/automated test equipment, to determine root cause of initial or isolated failures.
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components to ensure serviceability.
- Troubleshoots for customers, using established fault isolation procedures, in order to isolate mechanical or electrical faults. Troubleshoots accurately, with little or no engineering assistance and calls out repairs. Oversees and advises individuals on analyzing test data. Interprets data and assists engineering in diagnosing, locating and correcting complex malfunctions or discrepancies. Independently, visually inspects component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components. Identifies and documents discrepancies found during inspection.
- Independently documents repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results, using specific, detailed instructions and established processes and procedures, to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance. Ensures correctness of documented instructions and procedures and provides feedback to engineering regarding modifications, troubleshooting, repairing and testing documentation.
- Assists engineering to rectify discrepancies found by technicians. Assists in the development of new proposals, to identify personnel, equipment and material needed, cost and schedules. Properly identifies discrepancies found with parts and assists with reconciliation of discrepancies. Independently performs as part of a team tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations).
- Visually inspects component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components. Identifies and documents discrepancies found during inspection. Assists in resolution of discrepancies found by technicians and provide training to less experienced personnel.
- Directs modifications to satisfy deliverable products, by assisting in the development of procedures and practices.
- Understands and interprets required engineering drawings, instructions and technical specifications to advise engineers and technicians.
- Resolves and corrects routine and complex problems during development of documentation and initial modification of deliverable products.

Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must have prior C17 Maintenance experience, minimum of 5 years either FCC, flight line or HSC work
- This position is required to work one of three shifts Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays as required to support the flight line maintenance requirements.
