Reports to: Building Maintenance Foreman
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Executes painting assignments in offices, recreational and other public facilities related to the Embassy work sites under the guidance of and as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
Installs, maintains and repairs ceramic wall tiling as required in the above areas.
Performs a variety of other related duties as assigned such as, but not limited to, patching, finishing, and repairing sheet rock. Preparing areas for painting, cleaning up areas and equipment after the job is done, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE
Completion of secondary school or obtained GED is required. Vocational training or apprenticeship recognized as producing a journeyman painter is required.
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible work experience in the construction or the operations and maintenance of building services in large modern commercial or government buildings is required. Experience in maintaining building systems with equipment for painting work is required. Experience of working with US building construction.
Must have full journeyman knowledge of established practices and procedure of the painting and plastering trade. Thorough knowledge of appropriate materials and application methodology. Must be knowledgeable of proper safety techniques.
Able to communicate to keep leaders informed of activities under their direct responsibility. Must be able to evaluate a job, select and calculate materials, estimate time to complete the work. Must be able to anticipate potential problems and present solutions to his supervisor. Must be able to communicate with customer's at all level s of the embassy.
Must be 21 years of age or older, have completed secondary school or obtained a GED, and possess a valid driver's license. Top Secret clearance is required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
