Overview: The Field Service Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and providing systems engineering for advanced threat systems, including Unmanned Mobile Threat Emitters, T1, and FSUs in support of the ARCTICS contract. Using advanced technical knowledge, the FSE addresses complex electronic issues, supports system operational readiness, and provides technical guidance to junior team members. This position requires independent judgment, expertise in circuit analysis, and the use of sophisticated test equipment to support training missions for the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC).

Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced maintenance activities, including periodic, scheduled, unscheduled, preventative maintenance, and systems and sustainment engineering on threat systems.
- Solve complex problems such as evaluating, isolating system malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes.
- Read and correctly interpret electronic schematics, block, and flow diagrams.
- Perform electronic circuit analysis at the component level.
- Use advanced test equipment such as pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and computer-controlled systems.
- Operate and prepare threat systems, including radars and supporting equipment, for training events, ensuring threat-faithful operations during JPARC missions.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Air Force technical orders (TOs) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
- Track, manage, and maintain sufficient spares inventory to ensure system operational readiness.
- Interface with, on behalf of the Prime Contractor, the Air Force System Program Office (SPO) and Depot to report and coordinate maintenance and logistics activities for assigned threat systems including adhering to and testing Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTO) when directed to do so by the Program Manager or Threats Manager.
- Submit reports, including Proposed Spare Parts Lists and Inventory/Utilization Data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide technical expertise, training, and guidance to the system technicians.
- Exercise independent judgment based on prior experience and technical knowledge.
- Evaluate failure trend analysis and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology or a similar field. In lieu of the associate's degree, High School graduate or High School equivalency and completion of formal training in an accredited commercial or military electronics school plus an additional 5+ years of experience as a senior level troubleshooter or equivalent on-the-job experience resulting in 8+ years of experience in electronics maintenance, repair, and operations.
- Expertise in advanced radar threat systems required.
- Expertise with advanced test instruments and tools, including pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong understanding of circuit interrelationships and advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret and apply Air Force TOs, OEM documentation, and technical guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and mentor junior team members.
- Excellent oral and written communication and teamwork skills.
- Assist Senior Engineers in complex projects, contributing to design analysis and resolution.
- Eligible for DoD security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel frequently to support JPARC range operations.
