About the Role
Join our client as a Signal and Power Integrity Engineer, supporting the design and optimization of high-speed digital systems for defense and aerospace applications. You'll play a key role in ensuring robust signal and power integrity for mission-critical hardware used in DoD and national security programs.
Key Responsibilities
Signal & Power Integrity Analysis:
- Perform high-speed digital signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis using industry-standard simulation tools.
- Conduct pre- and post-layout analysis to identify and resolve SI/PI issues in PCB designs.
- Collaborate with design engineers to validate and optimize PCB layouts for SI/PI compliance.
Design & Troubleshooting:
- Develop and implement best practices and design guidelines for high-speed digital circuits.
- Analyze and optimize power distribution networks (PDNs) for reliable system performance.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of SI/PI issues in prototypes and production hardware.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Generate detailed technical reports and documentation of analysis results and recommendations.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in SI/PI methodologies and technologies.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in high-speed digital signal integrity and power integrity analysis (or Master's degree plus 3 years).
- Proficiency with SI/PI simulation tools such as Siemens HyperLynx, Ansys SIwave, Cadence Sigrity, Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, or similar.
- Strong understanding of high-speed digital design principles (transmission line theory, impedance matching, crosstalk mitigation).
- Experience with PCB layout tools and methodologies.
Security Clearance:
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Department of Defense TS/SCI clearance preferred at time of hire; must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-speed interfaces (DDR, PCIe, SERDES).
- Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
- Familiarity with power integrity concepts (decoupling strategies, PDN impedance profiles).
