Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Test & Evaluation Engineering Support Specialist - Secret position that just opened in Manassas, VA. In this role, you will work on mission-critical DoD projects, collaborating with Navy partners, internal teams, and industry leaders to ensure the successful delivery and operation of advanced defense systems. To be considered, you will have an Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 4 years of related experience. Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire

Contract: 24 months or longer
Pay: $39.50/hour

About the Role
Join our client as a Test & Evaluation Engineering Support Specialist, supporting the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) and Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator (MTWS) programs for U.S. and allied submarines. You'll work on mission-critical DoD projects, collaborating with Navy partners, internal teams, and industry leaders to ensure the successful delivery and operation of advanced defense systems.

Key Responsibilities
Test & Integration:
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to plan, execute, and document system tests for CWL and MTWS.
  • Develop and analyze test cases, procedures, and results.
  • Conduct verification and validation of corrective changes and system upgrades.

Technical Support:
  • Use electrical measurement tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters) to troubleshoot and validate system performance.
  • Support system installations, removals, and field service activities at labs and submarine home ports (domestic and international travel may be required).
  • Identify, document, and help resolve software, firmware, and hardware issues.

Collaboration & Reporting:
  • Work closely with Navy personnel, DoD labs, and internal/external engineering groups.
  • Provide regular progress updates and detailed technical documentation.
  • Support logistics and training teams in developing installation and operation procedures.

Required Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field (or 4+ years of relevant experience).

Experience:
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: AN/BLQ-10, AN/BYG-1, Submarine Weapon Launchers, or AN/BQQ-10 systems.
  • Proficiency in software testing, analysis, and general network operations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Security Clearance:
  • Active Department of Defense Secret clearance required at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.

Preferred:
  • Navy or submarine experience.
  • Knowledge of DoD test engineering concepts, scripting, and object-oriented programming.
