Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator with an active TS/SCI clearance to support, maintain, and enhance complex IT infrastructure within a secure environment at Ft. Belvoir, VA. This role requires strong experience managing Linux servers in classified environments, ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, and operational. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Linux server administration, patch management, STIG implementation, automation scripting, and system security compliance. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as automation tools like Ansible, is highly desirable. This position requires working 4–5 days onsite at Ft. Belvoir.

Security Clearance

Active TS/SCI clearance in DISS (required)


Certifications

Security+ or other DoD 8140 Baseline Certification for IAT Level II


Technical Requirements

Strong knowledge of Linux server administration (RHEL 7/8/9 or similar distributions)
Experience managing and maintaining Linux servers in secure environments
Proficiency in Bash scripting or other scripting languages
Experience with patch management and system updates
Experience applying STIGs and remediating vulnerability scan results
Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, NFS, etc.)
Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with automation tools such as Ansible
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Familiarity with virtualization and storage management


Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and supporting infrastructure.
Manage system patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation.
Apply and maintain STIG compliance and other DoD security requirements.
Review and remediate security scan findings and vulnerability reports.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash or other scripting languages.
Support system configuration and deployment using Ansible or similar automation tools.
Assist with containerized application environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
Ensure systems meet security, availability, and performance requirements.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and development teams to maintain secure operations.
Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
