The Naval & Oceanic Systems business unit headquartered in Annapolis, MD is seeking dependable individuals willing to work in a collaborative environment and that are interested in expanding their horizons.

The Hardware Engineering Department is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Configuration Analyst within the Hardware Engineering organization in Annapolis, MD . The Configuration Analyst is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive configuration management (CM) and Data Management (DM) process on major programs in accordance with established CM practices that are based on EIA/649 and customer contract requirements. Job emphasis is placed on planning and coordination of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality control, operations, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. The Northrop Grumman CM tool, Information System for Engineering (ISE) will be used as the system of record for controlling document status and bills of material. The ISE tool is in the process of being migrated to Siemens TeamCenter.

Our engineering work includes full life-cycle programs including design, development, system integration, hands-on test, training, and production. The successful candidate will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. The successful candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish team goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and administer Configuration Management activities related to planning, identification, change management, status accounting, and verification and audit
  • Apply Data Management principles for program CDRLs and SDRLs within the Program's Asset Library
  • Plan and coordinate the release and control of project documentation, like engineering drawings, internal program documents, and schedules, to ensure that customer contract requirements are met
  • Review contracts to determine the CM/DM documentation required for each phase of the project
  • Facilitate the analysis of proposed changes to product baselines to determine the effect on overall product and system
  • Apply internal business processes to ensure contractual and corporate compliance
  • Take the initiative to identify and communicate gaps in CM/DM processes


Basic Qualifications for a Principal Configuration Analyst:
  • Bachelor's degree AND 5 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master's degree AND 3 years of related professional/military experience. An additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • US citizen with active secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SSBI and pass a polygraph.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams
  • Detail-oriented
  • Experience supporting the formal delivery of a program's deliverables
  • Experience managing large data repositories of documents and folder structures
  • Experience tracking and controlling program documentation
  • Familiarity with the application of customer requirements in from a CM/DM perspective

  • Bachelor's degree AND 8 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master's degree AND 6 years of related professional/military experience. An additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • US citizen with active secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SSBI and pass a polygraph.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams
  • Detail-oriented
  • Experience supporting the formal delivery of a program's deliverables
  • Experience managing large data repositories of documents and folder structures
  • Experience tracking and controlling program documentation
  • Familiarity with the application of customer requirements in from a CM/DM perspective


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Proficiency with Teamcenter and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of EIA-649
  • Demonstrated ability to apply principles of a Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
  • Experience or knowledge of maintaining a bill of material (BOM) between PLM and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of product baselines and configuration status accounting.
  • Solid written and verbal skills to effectively interact with customers, partner organizations, and other cross-functional organizations.


NGFEATUREDJOBS

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $134,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $168,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
