Piper Companies is looking for a VoIP / SBC Engineer to join a leading federal customer support team located onsite in Norfolk, VA to provide advanced VoIP and SBC expertise, troubleshooting, and integration for mission-critical telephony systems. The ideal VoIP / SBC Engineer has an active secret clearance and will work onsite 5 days a week.

Responsibilities for the VoIP / SBC Engineer:
- Serve as an embedded engineer within federal customer operations, providing day-to-day support and guidance.
- Perform SBC configuration, deployment, and integration (Cisco CUBE and other SBC platforms) for SIP trunking and PBX environments.
- Conduct extended lab evaluations of new software/hardware and assist with critical migration projects (TDM to SIP).
- Provide fault isolation, SIP-layer troubleshooting, packet captures, and issue resolution, escalating when necessary.
Qualifications for the VoIP / SBC Engineer:
- 5+ years of experience in VoIP engineering, SBC deployment, and SIP troubleshooting.
- Strong SIP protocol knowledge, including interpreting SIP messaging and analyzing call flows.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco CUBE SBC and CUCM provisioning.
- Familiarity with PBX environments, feature provisioning (call waiting, transfer, forwarding), and debugging.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- Experience with packet capture tools (Wireshark) and troubleshooting at the SIP layer.
Compensation/Benefits for the VoIP / SBC Engineer:
- Salary/Rate Range: $100,000 - $120,000 (based on experience and clearance level).
